Community Action Inc provides resources and opportunities for people to overcome poverty. The Amesbury Center offers:
-- a food pantry

-- Emergency food, shelter, rent utility (EFSP federal program) for residents of Amesbury and Merrimac only.
-- Amesbury Aid Fund providing limited financial assistance for those at risk of becoming homeless or losing utility service (for residents of Amesbury and Merrimac only)
-- Heating assistance (all appointments made through the Haverhill office 978-373-1971). Weekly office hours in Amesbury during the heating season.
-- Public benefits assistance -- reference materials and applications for various public programs
-- SNAP and Mass Health Assistance by appointment (978-388-2570)

The Amesbury Center also administers the Amesbury Holiday Program, which is open to residents of Amesbury.
