Elder Mental Health Outreach Team

  • Overview of Organization and Services:
The Elder Mental Health Outreach Team has a grant to provide intensive and specialized services to women and men aged 60 and older that reside in the towns of Amesbury, Salisbury, Newburyport, West Newbury, Merrimac, and Groveland. The grant runs through June 2020.

Elder Mental Health Outreach Team, which operates out of the Amesbury Council on Aging, can provide case management, one on one assistance, referrals to psychotherapists and primary care physicians (if they are not currently in place), and support, education, and advocacy regarding all mental health concerns of seniors. Transportation and/or in-home counseling can be provided.

The Amesbury Council on Aging is collaborating with the Pettengill House on this program so that they can offer after hour crisis interventions when appropriate. Services are FREE.
