Mass Substance Abuse Information and Education Hotline

DESCRIPTION

  • Overview of Organization and Services:
The Helpline is the only statewide, public resource for finding licensed and approved substance use treatment and recovery services, providing referrals to hundreds of treatment services funded or licensed by the MA Department of Public Health.

Services are free and confidential and provide caring and non-judgmental support to anyone who needs help. Trained Helpline Specialists can understand the treatment system and your options.

Anyone can use the Helpline, whether you’re struggling with substance use or care about someone who is. When you call or use the website, the Helpline will:

Assess your needs with simple questions
Provide referrals to treatment and recovery services
    Help you access treatment
Answer your questions about addiction, treatment, and recovery

For those in the Merrimack Valley with a secured spot at a detox or residential treatment facility anywhere in Massachusetts, the Helpline can also help you arrange a ride to treatment through Wheels of Hope, a five-month pilot transportation program and service of the Helpline that began in January 2020. Rides are free, confidential, and safe.

Treatment options are available on website.

The Helpline is funded by the Bureau of Substance Addiction Services of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
