NeedyMeds – Help with the cost of medicine

DESCRIPTION

  • Overview of Organization and Services:
NeedyMeds is a national non-profit organization that maintains a website of free information on programs that help people who can't afford medications and healthcare costs. More than 1.3 million patients, family members, healthcare professionals, social workers and patient advocates use the NeedyMeds website each year.

They regularly update data on over 5,000 assistance programs, 13,000 free/low-cost/sliding scale clinics, 1,500 drug discount coupons and an inventory of stores that offer low cost fixed price prescription drugs. They also administer a program to provide certain generic drugs for free to patients living in poverty. All the information is accessible online, at no charge and without registration. If you have trouble with the website then call their helpline.

If you don't have insurance or are in the donut hole, you can also use the drug discount card that you can download and print from their website to get savings on your prescription drugs.

Note that the drug discount card that you can print from their site can also be used for pet medications when an Rx is presented to the pharmacist.
